The Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai, formerly Chiangmai-Lamphun Golf Club, is a sister course of the famous Alpine Golf & Sports Club in Bangkok. Chiang Mai’s latest championship course, designed by the world-famous Ron M. Garl, boasted the best in natural beauty from the nearby forests and greenery hills in its horizon.
Ronald M. Garl is one of the world’s best golf course designers, having won the award of ‘Golf Course Designer of the Year’ in 1996, from the International Network Golf Industry (ING). In planning and constructing the Alpine Chiang Mai golf course, Ron Garl has maintained the same standards as his other award winning jewels including the TPC at Prestansia and Palm Beach Polo Club both in Florida, and the Alpine sister golf course in Bangkok.
The new 18-hole layout (par 72) measures 7,541 yards from the championship’s black tees, or 6,814 yards from standard white tees. The course maintained a clear "Alpine" philosophy, designed along championship standards to challenge serious golfers, although indeed anyone who enjoys golfing in the fresh country air and close to nature, would find it equally pleasant from either the white or blue tee boxes.
