Chiang Mai nightlife attracts foreign tourists and its natives alike. There are several night clubs in Chiang Mai but many venues are quite small and have a few kinds of entertainment like musical shows, lounges, pubs or bars serving different kinds of revelers.

However, there is an answer for overall groups of people; it is a huge bar complex located on the southern end of Moon Muang Road called Mandalay known as a super-sized club with a largely Thai and foreign Clientele.

The Mandalay multistorey-complex’s space can be roughly divided into three zones: Mandalay, The Dark and Scratching.

On the first floor, there is Mandalay main bar, a huge auditorium-sized club with a stage, live bands featuring both famous Thai and international ones and coyote shows as well as girls dancing on podiums throughout the crowd. There are also occasional concerts and shows from well-known bands.  The main bar is also known as the biggest “gay bar” in Chiang Mai as it is always packed with gay Thais, especially on Thursday night which is the official gay night. There is a great show that includes lots of cute guys and famous lady boy performers.

The Dark is a house and trance club which is on the third floor of Mandalay complex, while Scratching opening after midnight to almost early morning is the zone for hip hop lovers.

*Admission fee for foreigners is 300 baht.

Unfortunately, Mandalay doesn', burnham, I am so sorry to hear this news. Thai's are such gracious people. Apparently, Mandalay doesn't share the Thai spirit of inclusion. My girlfriend and I will make a point of not patronizing Mandalay and share this unfortunate news with our Chiang Mai friends.

All People should boycott this, This place is fun, but is owned by a bunch of racists!!! 300 Baht because your eyes are round, WTF? I have lived in thailand for years, speak thai fluently, have thai citizenship, etc-etc and they still charge me... Last time I went a bunch of super wealthy korean business men went in for free, but me the poor dude working for 200 baht an hour - is expected to pay this insane fee... I hope this place falls down and shame on anyone for supporting this racist place.....
